HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Our 2005 New Year's Eve was different - It was just the 5 of us in the house, counting down the last hours of the year. Earlier yesterday, we drove down East OBT to Downtown Orlando, which vaguely reminds me of Makati. It was a little road trip; we saw the city at dusk, watched the flashing traffic lights and cars. We had dinner at Pizza Hut. Mabye next time we'll watch the Orange Citrus Parade (or whatever they call that year-ender parade at Downtown Orlando) :)

This year I will:

1. Learn how to drive. Hopefully I will be able to do this without crashing the car. XD

2. Watch more old movie classics and Twilight Zone re-runs.

3. Read Jessica Zafra's blog faithfully.

4. Listen to more music, read more books. bn.com here I come!

5. Get my orange-white belt!!! Don't I wish it were that easy to earn.

6. Respect my parents. :)

Only week left before Christmas break... Next week will be the last days of the first sem. Time flies. It's kinda hard for me to say goodbye to my first sem at OHS - just when I've established a fixed everyday routine, joined a lunch bunch and made friends in my classes.

I just wish that the next 18 weeks of the school year will be better in a lot of ways. Changes, changes and more changes lie ahead of me. Next year, I could start learning how to drive and hopefully, get a job - that is, if I receive my work permit *keeping my fingers crossed guys!* The prospect of slowly earning my independence is exciting and scary. I'm going to fall flat on my face more than once or twice, that's for sure. I'm preparing myself for that, so that it won't come as too much of a shock.

I can't wait for 2006! New everything - classes, friends, experiences and God-knows-what-else. :p -

These guys ROCK! Gotta luv Fall Out Boy. I never grow tired of listening to Sugar, We're Going Down... It's my *happy* song. ^^ Ooh, FOB also has a new single out, Dance, Dance. Although it doesn't give as much adreline rush as their first song, it's equally infectious. -

A plug for Sponge Cola... The video below features Metropolitan Theater's Romeo and Juliet. What better song to put than Gemini, from their debut album. Rock on guys! Btw, SC fans who are on the band's official memberlist get discount tickets to next year's Romeo and Juliet. Too bad I'd have to take an international flight to see it. Xl -

Just saw Pride & Prejudice. It was awesome and very faithful to the book too. Jane Austen rocks!

The casting was perfect. Matthew Mcfayden's Mr. Darcy was, I dare say, ADORABLE... esp. in that one scene where he tries to strike a convesation with the spunky 'Lizzie' (portrayed equally well by Keira Knightly). He is sticken with such a baaad case of tongue-tied-ness that he ends up saying no more than a How are you and Good day. Haha. ^ ^

My calves and ankles are aching. The pain is probably from jumping rope last Tue. or the training I did today and last Mon. Or it could be from both. I don't mind. In fact, I want to feel the pain in my body. I want to be tired and dead beat. I want to sleep curled up because of muscle cramps. The text I just typed above could convince people that it came from the mind of a weird masochistic girl. I'm not. A weird masochistic girl, I mean.

I used to complain a lot about any kind of physical pain. I hated feeling hurt - which is possibly why I never was into sports. I simply didn't like being sweaty, bruised, out-of-breath or any of the stuff active people went through. Now I want to run and let my feet take me as far as I could go. I want run and run 'til I every muscle in my body is so exhausted. I want to get a rush of energy from the pain, I guess. I want to run to wake the part of me that's been sedentary for so long. Too long, in fact. I've thrown too many years out the window, by assuming the role of a cat who does nothing but lie contented all day.

Allow me to put a philosophical twist to my compulsion to run. In running, I feel pain shooting through my legs, burning my lungs. Pain is generally perceived as a bad thing. I used to believe this. But now that I think of it, maybe pain isn't such a bad thing after all. It makes you feel that it's killing you, but at the same time it makes you feel alive. That, in my opinion, is a better sensation than apathy.

I've been saying too much blah. Anyway, for my third reason for wanting to run (lol, I make it sound like I'm composing a 3.5 essay :p)... I just want to. Ever wonder what it's like to get away from the world, to forget everything and leave it all behind? Try running. Dunno if it works for eveybody, but it makes me experience all that.

ps. I finished Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and am halfway through with Ready or Not. Nope, I'm not a bookworm. I just consume teen books the way I eat Reese's Peanut Butter cups. :-]

I passed the FCAT! No wait, scratch that... I aced the FCAT!!! I dropped by Mr. J's office yesterday to see my results. Well, I got: A Level 4 score for Reading, a level 5 for Mathematics... which is really ironic because I spent 9 weeks reviewing for FCAT reading. The number of days (or hours) I spent reviewing for the math part? Uh, nada. This is a weird world. Or maybe I'm just a weird girl in an ordinary world.

I'm going to set an appntmnt (haha, dn't mind d txt spelling) with Mr. J nxt wk (ooh, it's getting pretty infectious... or is that prtty infctious?) to get my classes for next semester.

More reasons to be happy: This is the best week ever!!! Today is the official start of the 5-day Thanksgiving weekend (also happens to be the Christmas shopping weekend). Yahoo! For the few days of freedom from the drudgeries of school, these are my plans:
- Listen to new music. Thank God for the wonders of Yahoo! Music, myspace music and really fast and reliable internet access. Now I have almost unlimited access to audiophile heaven.
- Finish reading The Fountainhead, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Ready or Not (All-American Girl part 2).
- Play tetris. Beat the "computer" in normal mode.
- Work out. Badmintoooooon.

Whoohoo..! Yay, yay... I'm now officially a yellow-white belter! (Anna and Bobby too, of course) It was pretty easy and faster than I thought it would be. I just had to do 2 take-downs, 2 ways of passing the guard and a triangle. I feel so ELATED... It's like a shallow, giddy happiness. XD

I'm actually looking forward to next week. I can't wait to get my new belt (they ran out of yellow-white belts, so I'm getting my belt tomorrow). And we only have two days of school. Any week that has just 2 days of school is a *goood* week. @,@

I'm happy... :) The belt test's on Sunday, 11am at Downtown Orlando. I'm finally getting promoted to a yellow-white belter after 4 months (I think) of training... Whoohoo..! That is, if I pass the test. Andy says that it's really easy, but I'm still a little nervous. Oh yeah, there's going to be a barbecue after the belt test, so double-whoohoo... n_n

There are only 3 weeks and 3 days to go before the sem ends. Something tells me I should be giving the biggest *whoohoo* for that.

Not really.

Sure - Spanish 1 is poco aburrido, American History is *yawns*, Outdoor Ed is pretty pointless (and I have to dress out 4 times a week for this subj), and Pre-Calc is... Well, just like a repeat of Math 4 with extra lessons. But - I will miss a lot of people. I'll miss Monica, Jessica, Xiaolu, Ricky, Ate Czarina, Kathy, the Pre-Calc crowd. I'll miss C-lunch and my "lunch bunch." If I don't get C-lunch next yr, I'm in for a lonely semester of eating alone in some table. u_u I'll definitely miss CHIEN! She's the closest friend I have in school... My sistah and note-passing partner. It's always been me and Chien, even from the beginning of the year. I have 2 classes with her this sem... It's going to feel weird without her. We probably won't see each other everyday. She has Drawing 2, Physics 1, TA and Eng 3 nxt sem - courses which I can't take. I will have to take Eng 3, but I'm going to try to be in an Honors Class to boost my GPA. :(

Weird. This is supposed to be a *happy* entry. It shouldn't end with sad news. Oh well...

Feeling: Happy but bored... to the point that when Monica asks me, "Whaddya do last night?", I go, "I dunno... I forgot." @@

It's alive...! I mean, the Internet's working... FINALLY! We still get connection problems in the AM, though.

- We went to Lisburg yesterday to visit our lawyer who's working on our petition, dropped by her husband's bakery to eat brownies, and drove down the "lakeside" to see old houses. The houses were pretty; it's like they came straight out from the pages of BHG. The road trip was fun but then again, I've always liked road trips (Not ALL of them, though.)

- Last Monday, the time was adjusted because of daylight saving time. So now when it's 6pm it's already dark outside. That is a GOOD thing for me. I get hyper when it's dark... I'm a night creature. @@

- How my first Halloween was: We gave candies, bought some more (We had a lot of witches, cat-girls, ghouls, vampires, etc. ringing the doorbell), dressed up and went trick-or-treating. Well, I dressed up but I didn't ask for candy. I just went with Anna and Bobby 'coz the streets were already dark. My parents couldn't just let them go trick-or-treating without "adult supervision"... Haha, that's almost-adult supervision - I'm only 16. ^^

- Today was OK. Same old boring classes. Everything is as usual, 'cept that Czarina, Jean and I sit in a different table now. The guys who sat in our table now TOOK OVER our old table. Someone messed up the table where they used to sit. It had red marker lines all over it. Well, that still doesn't give them an excuse to take our table, NUH-UH! Anyway, it's not so bad 'coz Monica and sometimes Garett sits with us and not the table-stealers.

Speaking of Monica, I chatted with her during 3rd period. The WHOLE 3rd period. Jessica was like, "Patricia, you're leaving me..." and Julissa told me "I hate you..." She said it like it was a joke but jokes are half-meant, right? It's not that I don't like hanging out with them. I do, but Johanney and her gang talk to each other in Spanish ALL THE TIME. How can I hang out with Hispanics when 95% of the time I don't understand a word of what they're saying???

- The package from the Philippines arrived this afternoon! Yay, new clothes, new stuff...

- I am liking Shakespeare. He's a genius. -_-

Bummer, bummer, bummer... We missed the Disney Martial Arts Festival. Mike gave us the flyer for it yesterday, but when we got home I couldn't look up the time for the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Youth competition. Tita Akel dropped by our place and we carved pumpkins 'til 11pm. Well, it turns out that the event was scheduled 9am, which is around the time I got up from bed this morning. So yeah, we missed it. Crap. Everyone from our class was gonna compete there.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Bobby's not going trick-or-treating AND we're not giving out candies to kids either. Ma didn't mean to crush the Halloween spirit... She just needed candy money to replace our mailbox. Late last night, a bunch of guys vandalized our mailbox. Nah, they completely annihilated it. Of course we didn't catch them in the act, but around 1am the police knocked at our door (hehe, more like rang the doorbell). They told Dad about the mailbox and asked him if he happened to know who did it. They even asked him if he wanted to press charges. He said no, which is probably what anyone would've done. This kind of thing just happens to random people at random times. It was our turn to be one of those unsuspecting random people, I guess.

Now the question on my mind is What will I be doing for Monday? Same old, same old maybe. It depends. If I'm feeling Halloween-y then maybe I'll dress up for school. One thing's for sure (and I hate to sound Hilary Duff-y but...) I am SO wearing black eyeliner to school...! @@

p.s. Can't wait for Tuesday! Milo Ventimiglia aka Jess aka MY HUSBAND is coming back for one eppy of Gilmore girls! I have a feeling that he's going to convince Rory to go back to Yale. Anyway, I hope he stays in the series for good. I still think he was Rory's best boyfriend.

I'm back and blogging...

- The weather this week was FREEZING, thanks to the cold front. Anyway, it's gotten a little warmer now so I'd probably stop wearing 3 layers of clothes on Mon. (Halloween!)
- Ms. Wendland finally got my credits figured... Thank goodness! Now I know that I already have 16 credits. I need 30 credits to graduate. I'm close to getting 4 units for this sem, so I will need 10 more units... Btw, I also asked Ms. Wendland about the DE courses and she says I have plenty of time to take them. Well, provided that I pass the CPT (College Placement Test) first, which only means that I have a ton of reviewing to do for the next 2 or 3 weeks. @@
- Halloween on Monday. I was pretty excited about dressing up on Mon. but I'm feeling really blah and bored, so I probably won't.
